Sick of power armour
Damn Im sick of it. And my Blood Angels kinda know this, I think. Yesterday I went to a small tournament and received a beating I´ve never had before. I experimented with some stuff in order to get away from vehicles for everyone is planning on de-meching your whole army by turn 3 and what shall I say, it didn´t work out too well. Although I did quite well at the last two tournaments, I realized that I need to field something different, especially yesterday. Don´t get me wrong, I still love marines, but Im just fed up with playing them and I think it is time to play something completely different from that...
Necrons
I like them, got an army, but I think Im just not good enough to win a whole tournament with them, they are fun to field and give your opponent something unexpected to deal with for no one plays them anymore.Anyway, I think no current competetive Necron army could stand an imperial Leafblower or a Razorangels/wolves spam commanded by a skilled player...and by the way, 3+ power armour....
Eldar
Very classy, I got a Saim Hann army too, but I don´t feel like playing a skimmer-themed army with a council, for I got very few models on the table to work with and...no, just don´t feel like it.
Nids
I love the codex, I love the models but a teammate of mine is already playing them and I think, Ill leave them to him, for he does better with them than I would ever, and I think,Ill take the opportunity and start *tadam* with Dark Eldar.
So, why ? First, shiny new codex. Lots of unexplored possibilities and the chance of switiching my perspective of wargaming and creating cheesy tactics and mechanisms within the army.Second, awesome new models, enough said. And last but not least, it is something I´ve never played before and Im curious how they ´d play.
So, enough rambling today, take care

Quick update
Hi there,
just a quick update befor I proceed with my holy mission of dish-washing. I have my Space Wolves almost done and ready, just one rhino is left to paint. Ill field them on the Halloween tournament Warpack 2010 at Oldesloe, near Hamburg. That´s going to be a tough one, a lot of good players from around here will be there and Im really looking forward to a fun and challanging tournament. My Wolves are nothing spectacular, lots of Greyhunters, some Longfangs and some stuff. My beloved Blood Angels are completely in a repaint-phase because I found my old Marine army ! It rested deep within the basement of my Mum´s house, never meant to be seen again. As you could imagine, I was very happy and proceeded with my project of my Adeptus Mechanicus Marine chapter which I dropped several years ago. "Iron Angels" or " Knights of Mars" or something like that, I have no name for it yet, but I think it´ll be damn cool.
So, praise the great Omnissiah and take care

Battlefield Brunswick
Hi there,
just a quick update here.
I went to Braunschweig last weekend with two guys of my club. I was eager to try out my new army concept, list was like that :
Logan Grimnar
Runepriest with living lightening and jaws.
1x Wolfguard with 3 stormshields, 1 thunderhammer and 1x meltabombs and a pod
3x Greyhunters, a 10 man squad with pod and meltas and all the good things, 1 in a rhino and 1 in a razorback
2x Landspeeder Typhoon
2x longfangs frist squad with 4 multimeltas and a missilelauncher plus pod, second with 5 missilelaunchers
1x Wolfscouts with mark, melta and meltabombs.
I put Logan into a pod together with the meltafangs, giving them relentless and delivering an awesome alphastrike but I really have to improve the list. The tournament was ok, I went 11th overall (because I didn´t send in the list by time, otherwise would´ve been 9th or so ) and 7th in General with one loss, two draws and two victories. It was the first time I played that list and for me beeing inexperienced with it, it was quite ok.Could have done better, but I just didn´t. Next time :)
take care

Has been a long time...
since my last post, but I got a lot to do. I had to finish up my wolves for a 1850 Tournament and had to spend time in strange things like realtionship and real life :) But now Im back and got a lot to tell. I tryed out my Space wolves in a small tournament last weekend called Raumpatrouille (Psacepatrol) VIII.
It was a strange concept.Your list had to start at 750 points and built up to 1000 and then 1250 and you weren´t allowed to change what you´ve already got.
I fielded my space wolves, just had 658 or so points to be able to field my landspeeders later, just two squads of greyhunters in rhinos with a Runepriest and a group of longfangs. First game was against a IG-Chimera spamlist with a Valkyrie, 3 Objectives. He scout-moved up and I seized. From there everything just went wrong. In my whole turn I fired everything, living lightening, 5 missles, 3 melta-guns and assaulted the valkyrie with one squad and managed to break of a lascannonen. To make a big whining short, nothing worked out and I lost with 2 to 1 Objectives which was counted as a 7/4.
Next game I had against a Tau list with Shadowsun and mainly ghosts, backed up by a two broadsides and some firewarriors with pathfinders.I added two Typhoonspeeders and a squad of wolfscouts to my list. The mission was three markers and you had to collect lootpoints by beeing within 3" of a objective with a scoring unit at the end of the enemys turn. I was really surprised how much firepower wolves can lay down when I recognized that I can outshoot Tau. I almost blasted him off the table and won with a 11/0 and 10 to 1 lootcounters.
Last game I had to play Dark Eldar.Lancespam, a few Transports, 2 Talos, 3 groups of footslogging Warriors, an Archon with that pesky 2 up invul and some other stuff I don´t remember.I now had a razorback with 5 greyhunters and a bikesquad of 3 with powerfist and meltabombs added to my list. Mission was standart mission in the rulebook 3 objectives. It was a tough game, but by turn 3 I could wipe out his whole left flank which were held by his warriors and reinforced my hidden rhino on the right. He got scared and withdraw his transports in the back of the field where I got a nice lane of fire with my longfangs and my speeders to put his HQ on foot far away from my greyhunters so I could move up to the objecitves with my troops easily. It was a good game with some glorious moments when I jawed away one Talos or killed of the Archon and his retinue with my wolfscouts.
Game ended with 3 to 0 obkjectives and a killpoint ratio of 10 to 0(I was surprised by myself^^) and I scored 11 points the second time.
Overall I additionally earned the full 4 points for having a completly painted army, so I got 30 points out 37 which made me second place. First place went to a guy from my gaming club with orcs, so it was a great day for Kiel.
Tomorrow Ill drive down to Braunschweig with two guys from my gaming-club and try out my logan-list concept.More to come

Nordmanöver
So this weekend I participated at the Nordmanöver.1750 points no restrictions.Damn I screwed up. I chose usual BA list, but exchanged an assaultsquad for a second Predator with lascannon-sponsons.
First game I had against a codexmarine army.Mission was killpoints with dawn of war. Went really fine, I blasted him till he got a rhino and a bikesquad without heavy weapons left. He managed to run away and hide and deny my a massacre. Whatever, nice game, really nice opponent.
Second was against Orks, 5 Objectives, Spearhead.
Simply exhausting, he gave me really hard time by fielding 9 kanz, a Nob-bikersquad lots of boys.I got second turn and that was, what saved me victory. By the bottom of turn five, I managed to obtain 2 objectives and contest 2, by placing two really decimated troops on "my" objectives and draw him away by charging the kanz with my terminators and the heroic death of my last sanguinary priest in round 4, in which he charged a big orkmob and made room for the razorback to reach the objective. So, I won again.
Game number 3 I went against Tyranids.Capture and Control, pitched battle. Damn how I hate playing against Nids. Lots of Genestealers, lots of monsters. It was the smallest table, lots of cover, lots of terrain. Till turn 4 it was a fierce fight, than he just kicked my butt. Pity.
The next day, 4. game, killpoints against a very unspectacular appearing marine droplist.I was sure Id win, but what followed was just wrong. He got first turn, we set up. I castled and made myself ready for beating the crap outta him.First Droppod came with an Ironclad and melted my Landraider.Ok, shit happens. turn two he made a shot of my Deathstarunit of 5 Terminators, a Reclusiarch and a Sanguinary priest whit his vindicator...everyone died.My Librarian Dreadnought roled for wings...12...6...ok, the dice gods hate me.And the whole game went like that.So whatever, I lost again.
Ok, my tournament enthusiasm was gone for that day and I decided to relay and just enjoy the last game, however it would look like.
Again Orks, again 5 objectives, pitched battle. Went really fine, I dominated the whole game because he let me dictate his movements.I think he was too scared of my Libby or my Raider.I won 3 to 1 objectives.
I made place 9 out of 26. Not bad but not what I aimed for. Whatever, it was real fun and I´ll take part again next year.

akl aftermath
Hi there,
I came back from a very nice tournemant yesterday night and was too exhausted to make an update. I made 7/26 and could almost smell the air of the 2nd.
It was 1250 points and I came with a shooty BA list, pred, Baal pred, dread with twin autocannon/twin las, 2 melta-attackbikes,2 las/plas razors, rhino with Libby, some assaultdudes, powerfist, melta, infernuspistol.
The first game I had against a Deathguard army.Prince, dread, defiler and lots of plaguemarines. Mission was 3 objectives. I set up and fired, he came towards me, nothing special there but thanks to my dice I just managed to make a draw.I always try to critize my own actions, tactics etc. but that was just ridiciulous.Ive never seen so many ones and twos, and I mostly roll a lot of them. However, enough whinig for now.
Second game I played against Orcs. 1 deffdread, 3 small dreads, 2 koptaz, battlewagon, and some other stuff I don´t really remember. Mission was killpoints. The emperor guided my fire and I tabled him turn 5.
Third game was against Chaos demons. Mission was 3 objectives. He fielded a bloodthirster, 5 bloodcrushers,3 flamers, that demon defiler thing, 5 plaguebearers, and some horrors. I deployed first, castled up and waited. He came down with his first wave, Thirster, defiler, crushers and flamers. Flamers mishaped, everything else came more or less on point.Turn 2 the action started. My attackbikes destroyed the defiler because I turboboosted them into the middle of the table in turn 1, the Thirster died by massive shooting and my dread charged the crushers.Although my opponent destroyed my dread in his cc-phase, I gained enough time to re-position, blast away the crushers and take the objectives.
Fourth game was against Quasar from my own gaming club.He played wolves. Awesome game.It was capture and control and dawn of war.We deployed facing each other because there was a huge rock in the middle of the table which blocked los entirely and I had faith in my long- and midrange firepower.
I can tell even if I don´t play against wolves often, I will never forget that thunderwolfcavallery has fleet.Until turn 3 everything went just fine but I made the mistake of becoming overzealous and lost my assaultforces within one round. I tried to manage a draw but he just beat the heck outta me in my back ranks, made a lot of invulsaves and blocked my pred off his marker.Very exhausting game with a lot of tension. At least the 2nd went to Kiel and Quasar really deserved it.
Oh I got carried away a little, but I hope you enjoy it,

le surprise
A guy from my club asked me to join him on a small 1250 points tournament tomorrow. There some restrictions that allow you to only take 2 of the elite, heavy support and fast attack choices and forbids doubling units, except for the troop choice (there you are only allowed to take 4 units).I don´t want to put the list in here, but Ive got 5 lascannons and quite some assault capabilities and will use that list to test a few things out for the larger tournament next weekend.
